The course helps pupils become familiar with exam structure and timing, supporting confident performance.
Each day of the Sprint will include reading comprehension, as strong comprehension skills are essential – they build vocabulary, support inference and analytical thinking, and directly improve writing.
On 2 of the 5 days, there will also be a focus on extended writing. Pupils will first complete a writing task independently, we will then review strong examples, teach key techniques, and guide them in improving their work. This helps pupils understand what good writing looks like and how to develop their own ideas, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
Overall, this combination of comprehension, vocabulary development, and targeted writing practice reflects how English is assessed in selective school entrance exams and helps pupils make strong progress in a short, intensive course
